Voters in the Cities of Loganville, Monroe, Social Circle, and Walnut Grove have the chance to pass real property tax relief this November. See bottom of this page to find your voting location.
Property taxes keep going up because home values keep getting reassessed higher every year. Even when tax rates stay the same, rising assessments mean bigger bills for families and homeowners.
To provide relief, the Walton County’s Legislators passed local bills giving voters in Loganville, Monroe, Social Circle, and Walnut Grove the chance to decide this November whether or not to cap homestead assessment increases for city taxes.
If approved, these ballot measures would:
· Limit how much your assessed home value can increase each year to the rate of inflation.
· Protect homeowners from runaway market-driven assessments as housing costs rise.
· Keep city property taxes more predictable and affordable for families and retirees.
This local legislation builds on the statewide constitutional amendment voters overwhelmingly passed in 2024 to help control rising property taxes.
On Election Day, you’ll see this question on the ballot in your city. A “YES” vote is a vote for meaningful property tax relief by capping yearly assessment increases on your city property taxes at the rate of inflation.
Vote YES for property tax relief November 4th. Early voting begins the week of October 13th.
